Description
The objective of this research was to provide data and analysis to support FRA in understanding which types of content are prohibited online under national legislation, which will underpin the Agency’s work on the DSA and the protection of fundamental rights online.
The focus was on specific types of online content that may raise concerns for the protection of the rights of children and young adults, and, among them, women and girls.
The mapping sought to allow to identify differences in definitions of illegal content across the EU. The research also supported FRA in identifying national policies related to the protection of children and young adults online, as well as specialised authorities or bodies mandated to address this issue.
This research was part of a larger project that aimed to analyse the challenges of tackling illegal content on online platforms for the protection of fundamental rights, particularly regarding the impact on the rights of children and young adults.
